Micro Lending in the U.S.

The MATT Foundation’s Micro-Lending Assistance Program is designed to aid people living in the United States interested in starting their own small businesses. We’ve partnered with micro-lending leader Acción Texas to help identify potential beneficiaries nation-wide, and will offer loan recipients business administration support and technical assistance to help ensure that their small enterprises launch successfully.

The MATT Foundation is inviting Mexican companies with a presence in the U.S. to donate a percentage of sales to Acción Texas, which will provide a unique bi-national aspect to the program. By recruiting Mexican-owned businesses to donate, we will encourage and increase Latino philanthropy in communities throughout the nation.

In September 2009, the San Antonio-based La Tradicional Tortilleria became our first business partner through The MATT Foundation Micro-lending Assistance Program. La Tradicional will donate one percent of its annual sales to Acción Texas, thus providing a steady stream of loan funds to deserving entrepreneurs in the State of Texas and the entire United States via Acción Texas partners nationwide.
